Miss Cosmos - Events - 2006 - Miss U.S.A

Miss U.S.A 2006 was broadcast live on April 23rd 2006 from Baltimore, Maryland and saw to crowning of Miss Kentucky Tara Elizabeth Conner crowned as Miss U.S.A 2006.

The event followed in the style of previous years with the show opening with each of the contestants introducing themselves then a group performance to open the show.

Miss U.S.A 2005 took an active part in the show which saw the contests decreasing throughout the evening.

First came the swimsuit pageant with those making it to the first shortlist taking part. Each contestant followed a similar style but a degree of variation was seen by each whilst on stage.

The evening gown parade came next with each contestant spending a few minutes on stage whilst being marked on style, poise and grace. Whilst on stage several poses were struck including several for shots from far camera's to get an overall idea of the contestant. Several of the contestants stage time was split with shots of the backing band whilst they posed and the band had several small sections in between groupings of contestants in which the camera watched them play.

The final shortlist was then announced and the 5 finalists then faced questions and were marked on their answers. After the questions the winner was announced.

There were no live performances but a live band played throughout the ceremony with two singers taking to the stage to provide backing to the two main contestant parades.
