Miss Cosmos - Events - 2007 - Pageant Place

Pageant Place was first announced in summer 2007. Trailers for the show were broadcast in September 2007 with the first show aired on the MTV network on the 10th October 2007. The premiere was support by increase appearances by the Miss contestants who would appear in it. This included several stints on MTV related shows and events such as MTV's TRL and the 2007 MTV Music Awards.

Pageant Place looked to capitalise on the popularity of fly on the wall styled dramas and the publicity surrounding recent events in the Miss pageants. It billed as a behind the scenes look of the 2007 Miss USA, Miss Teen USA and Miss Universe titleholders as they were joined by Miss Teen USA 2006 Katie Blair and Miss USA 2006 Tara Conner.

Adverts for the show revealed candid comments by both Katie Blair and Tara Conner over the scandal which saw Tara almost loose her crown in last 2006 as media outlets reported her underage drinking and partying.

Another angle taken shown in the adverts was the friction between past and current title holders and the resentment of the latter at having to share the limelight and their year of fame.
